One of my donkey mares gave birth today. Had a beautiful filly. Unfortunately the mother wouldn't let her nurse then tried to kill it so we have it in the house. Boys get to learn some major responsibility. I'll post pictures when I have a better signal.

Good news! The mother took her back and they are fine. This was a first time mother so I expected complications. The mothers mama is expecting as well.

Yeah, it is funny about some animals. I've known of cats who rejected one their offspring. Sometimes they accepted it after a day or two and sometimes they didn't.

Yeah I just went back out and she's nursing finally. New mama's are weird. First donkey birth we've had.

My wife’s been trying hard to talk us into a security donkey, I’ll have to not share any pics you post with her. She’s gotta buddy that rehabs BLM burros for adoption, so I’m always danger close already.

Share the picture! This is Beeboo when she was being fed inside yesterday. Today she is out with her mother, nursing fine. Ignore the neighbors legs. She means well but boy did she get in the way yesterday.
