Kia ora,

I was wondering if anybody knows how to further date this Peterson. Given the .925 mark I understand that 2003 can be the earliest date range.

Instead of a date letter it appears to have European convention marks. This is quite hard to see in the photo however.

I have attached the pipenotes article which delves into this and has a picture of a pipe with the same marks. Go down to the first section.

So you think it’s just the original system but with a replacement stem?
"The Original" Came with an AB stem and I'm guessing it was available with a fishtail. But the only way to tell is look and see if it was drilled for a chimney. If its not, I know a guy... I suspect the also made them with 9mm filter stems as well.

Ah yup, that makes sense. The fishtail threw me off as I always imagine systems with a p-lip but you’re right that that’s not always the case.

What I’m confused about now is of this pipe is from 1990, why is the 2nd mark the .925 stamp which wasn’t introduced until 2003?
Not sure but the one introduced in 2003 has the oval around it (see @TheIronMonkey’s post) which yours doesn't.

The NOS first run from 90 shown in the blog post has the exact same silver hallmarks that yours does, so I don't think the claim that that stamp wasn't used before 2003 is quite accurate.
