I make my own from hardwood ash, water, and a little sodium silicate (waterglass). No real "formula" for it, just trial and error. Not sure that anyone actually markets it.

Yes, I heard that also. But as I can't afford cigars, here in Oz - $20 for a very modest sized stogie - I'll work on the tobacco ash.
Tobacco ash will work well - just put through a fine sieve to eliminate bits of tobacco first

Add water drop by drop !
You don’t need much - just enough to get a workable paste
You can “shape” and remove excess with a bent over cleaner.

And allow lots of dry time

Just my luck, I threw out a whole jar of ash just two days ago. No worries, more is on the way.
