Putting a date on St Bruno.

Does anyone know how to date St Bruno or even if it’s possible?

I managed to get hold of a pouch of 50g with the more modern (gross) health pictures - see the attached photos - so presuming before 2016 when McBaren’s took over full production because there’s still the Imperial Tobacco logo on it.

Anyone got any ideas how old this might be?

The recent versions imported into the USA by Sutliff have a date on the sticker that seals the package. I know that doesn’t help you given where you are and with your vintage, but, maybe the info will be of some use.

I’d disregard the above & recommend that you send along the pouch to me Franco. Through rigorous trials & relentless testing, I’d be able to tell you ‘exactly’ when that pouch was made, furthermore, I’d be able to tell you the name of the person who did it & even what the weather was like on the day of production.
Such ‘in depth’ analysis would result in me returning the pouch to you empty of course. I’m sure you’ll agree though, it’s a small sacrifice in return for such valuable information.

La La Carey got it right, of course. One other things for certain though, that pouch will be tastier & a tad stronger than what you can get now.
If it’s dried out, I can offer a full rehydration service….no charge, as above though, pouch would be returned empty.

Just wondering, does anyone know why the width of the cut of tobacco was increased in the EU? Doesn't make very much sense to me, except for some weird authoritarian standardisation measures?

Clan has never been anything near a favourite but, flippin eck, aged stuff ain’t so bad!!





At least I presume there’s some age on the stuff? Looks old, without those pictures on the pouch?

The EU is a political construct invented as the successor to a certain Austrian Corporals plans for Europe if he had won the big one against Noel Coward and John Wayne! Remember the EU has an obsession with measuring everything and putting stuff into Categories. Under EU regulations a carrot is actually categorized as a fruit - seriously!
