What a great holiday!

I didn't get the baby Jesus in my slice of cake so I don't have to make(buy) tamales for the next party!

How do I describe this? First, I think the name is just the cake and the actual holiday name is much longer. Second, it's kinda like a Thanksgiving/Christmas combo.

There's really no organization other then getting together and enjoying food and drink. A piñata full of candy for the kids and cutting the ""Rosca de Reyeas" 'kinda like a ring cake) seem to be the only (semi) formal part.

Definitely in my top 5 holidays!

Sounds nice but I would have been happier if you got baby Jesus in your cake.

Then you have to make tamales for all members of the forum.

Either way work for me. Eating and making tamales is very enjoyable to me.

Sounds like you are describing what we call a King Cake in Louisiana.
