I have acquired a few over the past few years. 8 Castello's. 1 Ascorti. 1 Jason Mouton. 1 Phil Rivara. 1 Lone Star Briar Works. These are all straight. I also have a Jason Mouton 1/4 bent oval bowl. 
Here’s my Group 3 Dunhill Dress bulldog—a classic “opera” pipe to complement the accompanying classic black tuxedo, for enjoyment during intermission when one is not sipping a dry martini.
And of course the de rigueur patent leather pumps, top hat, cape, white silk scarf, gloves and silver-mounted walking stick

I’m surprised we haven’t seen your opera army pipes yet
I have never read of these prior to this thread and am curious therefore, How do these smoke compared to regular pipes ? Does the Oval shape enhance the flavors like a pot shape ? Are they the same size as regular pipes or are they smaller like Opera cigars ? Or are they just squished to make more room at the crush bar ?? 
I have these 3 only.
All with oval chambers
The slim/“squashed” bowl is so there is no unsightly bulge when carried in the waistcoat pocket
A Czech tamper just fits the chamber.

Of the opera pipes I have, only one has an oval tobacco chamber. I notice no difference between it and the others with a round chamber.
Here’s my 1963 Dunhill Opera pipe. Hope to get a bent one too eventually.
Are you sure that's Maria Callas? Doesn't look much like her, and although I've seen her smoke cigarettes, I've never seen her with a pipe.
One of my favourite shapes, though I only have the four. A Bruyere St Claude, a Dunhill, & two marTelos. 
Is that top MarTelo this one?

I had two, one Castello Sea Rock, and a birth year Dunhill Root Briar.
I couldn’t come to to terms with either, sent them to Fallon.

It is! Good spot - it was the first one he'd made. The chambers are a little more conical than my other Operas & they smoke like a dream. So much so that I've already paid the deposit on the next two of a seven day set. Super-excited about the project!Is that top MarTelo this one?

The next two are going to be a blast & a smooth cross cut (one with a horn stem), then two reverse cross cuts - a blast & a smooth again - & the last will be panelled.
