Stem Stuck

I have a Nording Volcano Spigot pipe that I can no longer remove the stem from the shank. If I try any harder, I am worried I will break the pipe. Any ideas before I do something foolish?

With a vulcanite or acrylic tenon in a briar mortise, you just put it in the freezer.

But I have no clue about metal on metal spigots.

Put it in the freezer for a few minutes. That should loosen it up.

Slowly heat the metal with a hairdryer or heat gun. Freezing won't work on a metal fitting.

I will try both freezing and heating. Will put it in the freezer first, as it will probably help with heating if that fails.

Freezing did not work by itself, but soon with the heat it let loose!
