Anyone have any suggestions on how to calm a pipe down with too much of a draw? I’ve tried packing a little heavier but still the draw is still too full?
Suggestions?

Probably a larger draft hole. Some guys prefer it.

Easiest thing is to keep packing tighter until you get the draw you want. Might effect burn quality though.

Other option would be sending it somewhere to have the draft hole made smaller at a point using some kind of an insert. That said it's probably more trouble than it's worth.

I drill out all my draft holes using a #17 bit or 11/64. The stem I use a #28 or 9/32 bit on tenon end only. Then I pack like usually do. The pack and style cut of tobacco would dictate the total draft after packing. I like a wide open draft hole and use the pack to regulate draw.
