Well spring is going from "I'm not giving you any rain" to "the rain isn't stopping", crazy stuff at the moment. Mac Baren Burley Flake is this mornings smoke in a Pete 999 with coffee. Need to find someone to make some acrylic fishtail stems for my Peterson pipes as I hate the upkeep of Ebonite.

Taking a break from a busy day. Not far from finishing this bowl of year 2012 E-soterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Got a tin of 2023 Cringle Flake today, and will try it later.

Wendell Berry was recommended to me by the pipe-smoking proprietor (straight peterson with 1-Q) of a bookshop in Franklin, Tennessee. We got talking about Bukowski, of whom he had the largest selection I've ever seen in a store (he is personally a fan). He featured an even larger display of Berry, who is new to me. He suggested this to start with. Loving it!

Joel is the first pipe smoker I met in the wild. His book store is a magical place. He used to have a secret room full of rare whiskey, but I think it's been overtaken by books.

Smoked some MB Balkan Blend in the Savinelli 320 whilst out and about checking pastures and on my way home this little wombat crossed my path, he was in no hurry.

Post-work to warm up is Wessex Dark Flake from an old BBB Ultonia with a seasonal light roast and some tunes. The moon is pretty wild where I'm at (North GA mountains) and the cold is setting in hard.
