I like Georg Jensen pipes and search them out on eBay, at Blue Room etc. pretty regularly.
Most GJ pipes are well under a$100 some nicer ones go for between $100-$150. So, when I came across these two pipes listed at $400 a piece I was a bit perplexed. Is the seller just crazy or am I missing something? They are higher quality, unsmoked GJs but, considering one of the pipes is pictured with the stem upside down I think the Seller may not be much of a pipophile.

George was a manager at MacBarens, and has been trying his hand at making pipes. From what I understand his factory pipes that he has commissioned to be made are like in the $100 range, and the ones where has has hacked made them up himself have vulcanite and bring about $400ish. So, the price is spot on, but as we know with these new pipemakers, especially ones famous for being in another part of the industry and are riding their fame to promote their pipes, that stem is most likely not upside down, but designed to look upside down. puffy

Thanks for the info
But re the stem - The GJ logo must have been stamped on it upside down then?3BC871D4-1C8C-49A8-9542-9775AF2EB0AB.png

Georg Jensen (no relation to the other Georg Jensen) pipes are very good pipes at honest prices, easily on par with pre-Italian Stanwells. I have one which was bought new in the '70s which is still a favourite.

The Danish Pipe Shop stocks a good selection of G Jensen estates.

There are a few EBay vendors looking for a windfall just because something looks old, or is listed as "vintage". Last year there were some very ordinary, no name NOS Italian pipes listed at USD$300+. I've wondered if any one was sucked down that black hole

I've got one George Jensen. A lightly used professionally restored estate for $29usd from ebay.
It's a very good smoker.
