Is that a partial Crown stamp? A fair number of Stanwell seconds have a crown.

I was initially thinking Danish or Swedish, but couldn't find anything that matched up to what you have.

Yeh, that crown doesn't look like the Stawell crown. I'd say +1 for @Bluemonter 's guess. It is about the most logical choice. Good call Blue.

Looks like it says Surbrug below the crown. Surbrug Tobacco Co was a NY tobacconist, IIRC. I've seen their stamp on early Barlings and Charatans, so they imported pipes, and they had a range of tobacco blends that they sold. They were around in the early 20th century. Don't know much about them. I think they opened in the late 19th century, but I don't know when they went out of business. LIkely this was made for them.
