Have you tried Delux Crumb Cut? I got some on the suggestion of another member and it is a favorite.

For no fuss most so-called English blends are easy and consistent but my personal go-to ol' reliable favorite is GH&C Louisiana Flake.

Since I'm based in EU and have no access to generic US domestic blends my answer is Amphora Brown&Red and Clan Aromatic, St Bruno Ready Rubbed is another option but a full bowl of that one takes somewhat more time to finish yet requires more attention to be dried properly, not too dry or moist

Hate to be basic: but SWRA is a scoop it now, and go outside and enjoy blend. No drying, no problems.

Smells great in the tub, no relights, just delicious taste for such a simple and traditional blend.

Good memories of seeing SWRA in my grandfathers mason jar of pipe tobacco.

For me it’s probably C&D Epiphany. It’s a blend that is easy to get, easy to smoke and always tastes great. It’s not necessarily my favorite but its a blend I smoke in any pipe and no matter what I’m doing.

Arrowhead from Pauls Pipe Shop. Seems to be the jar I reach for most often as it is always in the front of the cabinet. Great flavor, great smoke.

Other than ones I haven't cared for the taste of, they've all been no fuss. Drop it in the chamber, tap the heel against my palm, light, and go.

I'm not so lucky as to just be able to smoke anything without any prep/drying time or care for pace of smoke and not get tongue bite. I can smoke all day on an empty stomach and it not bother me one bit but if most of my smokes aren't prepared and smoked correctly I pay the price.

That's the beauty of gravity filling. It negates the need for drying time by allowing more oxygen into the chamber to aid the burn and dry the moisture.

As a young man, I enjoy St. Bruno. Been that way since I first started in the late 80’s…when I was an even younger man.
No ‘dry time’ for me, no fussing about required with either the flake or ready rubbed (YMMV).

Must be a different type of gravity in Florida that has never been the case for me. Also I'm just probably more sensitive to tongue bite. Even certain foods and drinks give me tongue bite well before I ever started smoking.
