    Meerschaum Pipe Stemwork

Sellers often picture meerschaum pipes against a black background, which makes figuring out how well cut a stem is a mite tricky. What's your experience, are there any recommendations for makers based on stemwork/mouthfeel?

    GH Kendal House, Initial Impressions

Standard 'I'm not JimInks' disclaimer - & this is based off two bowls, so an additional pinch of salt required. The description online reads: 'A mix of Burley, Cavendish and Virginia with a faint topping of Molasses. This broken flake tobacco has an earth smell to it and smokes deliciously...

Show Us Your Seven Day Set(s)

Having put together my first seven day set (Marek Kando Seven Day Set :: Pipe Talk - https://pipesmagazine.com/forums/threads/marek-kando-seven-day-set.88180/#post-36487921), I'd love to see the sets other members have built up - or to hear about work in progress...

    Marek Kando Seven Day Set

I kind of have to post this as the eighth pipe is in the post! So, no more prevarication - here's my first proper seven day set. I genuinely love everything about them. They have an amazing restraint & flow - my photos do them no justice at all. They're wonderful smokers. & Marek's stem work...

    New GH Blends

Looks like GH have made some new blends - a Gold Shag Latakia, Gold Shag Perique, & a Kendal House. The last sounds pretty exciting, a VaBurCav with a light molasses topping. Notes of grass & citrus. Definitely adding that one to my next order!

    Pietenpauws & My Third Commission

His name doesn't show up very often here - so I thought I'd use getting my third commission as an excuse to show Pietenpauw some love. Jean made a rhino pipe called Hope a while back which I think is stunning - it's on his website & well worth a look. Having stared at it for much too long, I...

    Aluminum Tipped Stems...?

An Ashton churchwarden has just finished on eBay - with a feature I'd not seen before, an aluminium Tipped stem. I'm assuming this is to protect it - but it seemed a bit counterintuitive to use a softer stem material that needs more maintenance & then cover it with metal exactly where most...

    3x Strawberry Askwith

I like to imagine that word of The Alaskan Seven Day Pipe Set set the world of pipe makers abuzz. Finally! The contribution that they could make to culture & history was now unmistakable. Pipe craftsmen & women should be taken seriously. As should the product of their craft, their sweat, their...

Issues With A New Pipe, Being Mindful Of Rule 12

Disclaimer: I've read through the explanations of rule 12 & I think this is in line. Apologies to the mods & the community if it isn't. I had a problem with a pipe & I reported that to the seller, but I'm a little concerned about the solution they've proposed & I'd like a second opinion. I...

Show Us Your Pretty Profile Pipes

This arrived in the post today & I realised it was the second pipe I've bought almost entirely because of how much I liked the profile: (A tiny little Bruyere St Claude.) This Marek Kando is the other: So, have you ever bought a pipe for it's profile (side views only please, none of this...

    Hello

Hello, I'm going to start off by saying thanks - this is where I go when I need a second opinion, more information, or fuel for my PAD/TAD. This place is great. I'll try to keep the stupid questions down (why VaPer not ViPer; wierd Charatan pipe markings & their dating). Nice to meet you all!
