Opened this tin that I rec'd as a gift from the Secret Santa antics. If I'm reading this correctly, is it from 19th of July 2002? Not being keen on aromatics I'd never tried this before. But I'm pleased to say, that it's manageable for my palate, so much so I can even enjoy more than 1 bowl in a row, which is rather rare for me.

Recently, I was checking on some old tins of W.Ø. Larson Old Belt Ready Rubbed Virginia from 2005.

I touched the lid on one of the tins & the lid flew off! Revealed underneath that lid was a significantly bulging but otherwise intact foil cover.

As I popped the aluminum cover with my knife, there was this whoosh & the sudden wine-like odor of wonderfully fermented pipe tobacco.

As I removed the foil, I gazed in amazement at the beautifully aged Virginia tobacco inside.

It was just the right level of moisture so I stuffed some into a bowl & fired it up. Mmmmm, delicious!

Ephemeris, by the Briary (Tobacconist in Birmingham, AL), smoked in my pipe named René. I'm not usually one for ribbon cut these days, but the fellas at the Briary were quite proud of this one and with how welcoming they were to my wife and myself, I couldn't help but support the shop and pick one up. Trying it, I understand the pride. With the integration of various cuts and even cubes of Virginias, it makes for a pleasant, cool, long smoking enjoyment. Kudos to them.
