I’m getting more selective - the upcoming ebony 125th doesn’t interest me but the Iora is my favorite finish/blast combo - just hoping they don’t trot out some good looking Sherlock pipe before Christmas!
I’m with you on the Iora. I wish it came out as much as Rua. Actually, I wish the Iora got the system release as I would’ve preferred a system but I was happy for the Barley Premier System we got earlier this year.

Ok so after a brief hiatus for work here’s another piece in the great late ‘23 Pete PAD spree that I never finished posting…..lol
First up, another from the Rua 125th anniversary, a dandy little 20s.
I like pretty much everything about this pipe, not much more can be said. Not the best blast of the ruas I’ve seen, including my particular 9s example, but plenty interesting and the shape and size of the 20s are fantastic in my opinion.

Next up a shape 305 from the 125th anniversary line in the barley finish. I’m partial to bent billiards, apples, eggs, and brandys for the most part. I enjoy pipes that feel good in hand, and for me that’s lead me to mainly those shapes. The calabash/Dublin shapes have grown on me slowly, as I must admit I hold it a little differently, and it doesn’t nestle in my hand the way I’m used to, but as said, it is surely growing on me. These barley finish pipes are cool. I hope it continues to darken and patina with age and use!
